Project Description: Develop a working prototype of an interactive documentary based on a pitch document. Document the process with a production blog.

‘Time for a Housemates Meeting’ is an interactive 2D animated Documentary that explores the unexpected and often entertaining complexities of share house living. Titled after the last sentence you want to hear from a housemate or see in the group chat.
The project invites viewers to interact with a stylized house and to hear real reflections on interviewees experiences with housemates, what they learned, what they struggled with, and who they became. Interviewees can touch on any experience of their choosing, from cleaning disputes, cultural clashes, and passive aggressive texts to clever cleaning hacks, shared recipes and the ones who became lifelong friends who introduced them to even more lifelong friends, and sometimes, even lifelong partners.
The viewer is presented with a 2D flat illustration house with each floor and rooms fully visible, like a cross-section dollhouse. Shared spaces such as the kitchen and living room include short voice memos in secret spots. The bedrooms each contain a character. Clicking on then triggers a short, animated story told in the person’s own voice. Once all five housemates have been visited a final message is triggered ‘You’ve met everyone. The meeting’s over. Ready to move in?’ Which is the end of the documentary.
